Matilda’s talents lead to being her own boss

When Matilda from Chester was referred to Springboard by her work coach at Chester Job Centre, she had dropped out of university and was looking for a job to bring in some money before going back to study a different subject.
Her Springboard advisor Tracy, at Weaver Vale Housing Trust helped her to develop a CV, a cover letter and support towards job searching for suitable jobs. Through her conversations with Tracy,
Matilda revealed that she is a talented artist, and together they explored ways in which she could make a living from her art.
Springboard provided Matilda with advice around self-employment, she set up an Etsy account and a Facebook business page and begun to sell some of her pieces.
Matilda says:
“It was wonderful working with Springboard. I enjoyed meeting Tracey and receiving her support, which has helped me to grow my business and feel more confident in my talents.”
