11 March 2024

Thanks to funding from the North West Hong Kong Welcome Hub, part of the North West RSMP, we are delighted that Torus Foundation has been selected to offer comprehensive employment and skills support to help Hong Kong British Nationals overseas (BNO) visa holders.

The ‘HK Pathways – North West Employment Advice and Support Programme’ is the first region-wide employment programme tailored specifically for BN(O) visa holders and aims to increase access to opportunities and enhance prospects of securing employment and training within the UK job market.

As one of three organisations across the wider North West, our dedicated team at Torus Foundation is ready to deliver a diverse range of support services across Cheshire, Warrington and Liverpool City Region. These include helping to create up to date and relevant CVs, assistance with job searches and applications, interview preparation, increasing networking opportunities and more.

The programme’s free support from the Foundation, is available to the Hong Kong British Nationals living across Cheshire and the Liverpool City Region.

Tracey Walsh, Head of Employment at Torus Foundation comments,

“The Foundation has already supported over 100 BN(O) visa holders, providing information, advice and guidance and has supported individuals into training, work placements and jobs. We are excited to embark on this journey with the North West Hong Kong Welcome Hub, as we join forces to empower Hong Kong British Nationals (overseas) with the tools and support the need to thrive in the UK job market.”

Torus Foundation understands the challenges and uncertainties that come with transitioning to a new country, which is why our tailored resources and guidance are designed to ease this process and facilitate a smoother integration into employment.

To help launch the initiative, Torus Foundation is inviting Hong Kong British Nationals across the region and local organisations to an information event at The Gateway in Warrington on Wednesday 20th March.
