Torus Foundation organises activities for a number over 55’s tenants living within Torus’ independent living properties across Liverpool. Our Health and Wellbeing Officer delivers eight weekly programmes for Cook and Taste and also Chair Boogie sessions which help residents to look at ways of improving their health and wellbeing.

Health and Wellbeing Officer, Tracey explains,

“The sessions are an opportunity for Torus tenants to get together so it’s really good for reducing isolation. Everyone gets involved with cooking and preparing.

While the food it cooking, we go off to do a little bit of exercise to whatever music has been requested. I’ve really enjoyed seeing people at the end of the eight weeks, walking great, their balance has improved and one of the main things is they’re having less falls so they’re feeling better, physically, mentally and socially.”
