Torus Foundation is working with training providers to deliver new opportunities helping Torus tenants and residents to gain new qualifications, skills and could lead to jobs depending on the training.

Let’s work together to build your CV with new experiences to help you return to work with a new role with some new training courses:

  • Cavity Wall and Loft Installations

Following interviews, all candidates will receive:
– An approved insulation installers certificate
– CSCS
– PPE (boots, high vis, hard hat)
– Hands on experience

Book a place on the Open Day 28th September, 10am at FireFit Hub, Liverpool.

Participants will be interviewed by local employers for live vacancies and invited to complete role specific training.
Next course starts: 4th October 2021 (for two weeks)

In partnership with

  • HGV Course

All learners will work towards:

  • Health and Safety Level 1
  • Warehousing and Storage Level 2 or Logistics Support officer Level 2 (depending on existing qualifications)
  • Driving Goods Vehicles Level 2
  • Class 2 HGV license (or Level 1 LGV depending on existing qualifications)

Training open to all Torus tenants who meet the following criteria:

  • Age 21 and over
  • Held a driving licence for at least 12 months (preferably no more than 6 points)
  • Basic IT skills

Course consists of online learning for four weeks, followed by a week of practical sessions to complete the training. Torus Foundation can support with basic IT skills and digital equipment. Interviews with local employers guaranteed upon completion of training.

  • Women in Civil Engineering

Train for your new future in Civil Engineering with job opportunities in Data Cabling, Slinger/Signaller or Dumper and Roller.

We’re aiming to help create more opportunities for women in this sector, although all Torus tenants aged 19+ are welcome to apply.

Assessment Day – 6th October at FireFit Hub, Liverpool

During the assessment day you will be interviewed by local employers, complete a Maths and English assessment and Drug and Alcohol tests. Successful candidates will then be invited to start job focused training. 

Training commences 11th October, 5 days at FireFit Hub, Liverpool

Participants will then be invited to the 5 day training course starting on 11th October to gain the Level 1 Into Construction and Level 2 Industrial Environment Awareness. Following which you will start your job specific training pathway into employment.

We also have Springboard launching in October. The new employment and training programme will provide job opportunities and the chance to build skills to those who are out of work or who have left education and looking to find employment.
