To enhance the support for young people into work, Torus Foundation has become a gateway organisation for the Government Kickstart Scheme, which is creating high quality 6-month jobs for young people aged 16-24 who are also unemployed and claiming Universal Credit.

The roles are for 6 months, 25 hrs a week and paid £9.50 per hour – more than the national minimum wage.

  • HMS – Garden Tidy Business Support

Join HMS’ Garden Tidy team to make sure the green spaces in our communities across Liverpool, St Helens and Warrington are kept looking nice over the summer.

As Liverpool’s only Super Youth Zone, FireFit Hub is the flagship project for the charity Torus Foundation. The Hub is looking for a leisure assistant to support the wider team. This is a great opportunity for anyone keen on keeping active and looking for a career in health and wellbeing.

With two gyms, indoor and outdoor sports pitches and a cafe, we need a confident and organised individual to support on our reception.

Torus Foundation is committed to supporting young people into work, especially following a challenging year.

Joining as a gateway organisation for the Government’s Kickstart employment scheme, the Foundation is able to bring on board employers to the initiative as well providing employment support where requested.

Employers of all sizes who can create quality jobs for young people can apply and they will have access a large pool of young people with potential, ready for an opportunity through the local job centre.

The Government will fund each ‘Kickstart’ job

  • Paying 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week for 6 months, plus the associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions. Employers can top this up by paying the National Living Wage and/or by offering increased hours per week.
  • Funding will also be available to support young people to develop new skills and to help them move into sustained employment after they have completed their Kickstart funded job.

Torus Foundation will help provide this additional employment and skills to help maximise the young person’s opportunity of entering or returning to the job market.
