Through our FireFit Hub facility in South Liverpool, Torus Foundation has partnered with Merseyside Police to help encourage young people to engage in more positive activities in their community this summer.

Part of a wider campaign which aims to empower young people to #changethegame, FireFit Hub, as Liverpool’s only super youth zone is the ideal venue and boasts leading edge facilities including a gym, 3G football pitches, sports hall, martial arts and dance studios and more.

The focus is on a week of FREE activities for 11 – 21 year old from now until 1st September and Police Community Support Officers have been busy distributing leaflets offering free dodgeball, football, gym sessions and DJ opportunities to name but a few.

Community Inspector Geoff Stewart said, “Young people need somewhere to let off steam over summer, and with so many high-energy activities on offer, FireFit is the perfect place to do it! Better still it’s all free for a week.”

Jen Van Der Merwe, Centre Manager at FireFit Hub comments, “Our team provide a safe and fun environment for members and we’re excited to welcome each young person through the door looking to take part in our action-packed summer.

By encouraging others to try something new, it could reveal hidden talents and empower young people to #changethegame for the better.”

Kate Shone, Managing Director Torus Foundation adds, “This initiative is a great example of how Torus Foundation is working with partners such as the Police to strengthen our local communities in an encouraging and engaging way. It’s a great opportunity for us to raise aspirations and provide positive role models for our young community.

#changethegame summer campaign is a partnership through Torus Foundation’s FireFit Hub, Merseyside Police and with additional funding kindly provided by Onward Homes.

Those referred to the Hub wishing to exchange their flyer for a week of free, activities can call after 4pm Monday – Friday to the FireFit Hub reception at 115 Upper Warwick Street, L8 8HD or call 0300 123 5809.
